Join The Cleanup Club for a summer beach cleanup as we work together to protect our Great Lakes from plastic pollution! ๐
Every year 22+ million pounds of plastic pollution enters our Great Lakes, with an estimated 5.5 million of that ending up in Lake Erie. Which is why we need your help in keeping our shorelines free from debris! ๐ชฃ๐งค
โญ๏ธ A great hands-on opportunity to learn more about microplastics and their impact on our freshwater ecosystem.
WHAT TO KNOW:
O๏ปฟur goal is to cleanup Lake Erieโs shoreline while having fun!
Everyone & anyone is welcome!
All c๏ปฟleanup materials will be provided.
All trash we collect will be weighed, counted and categorized with the help of volunteers for Great Lakes plastic pollution research & advocacy efforts.
A state park fee will NOT be required. If there is an attendant at the entrance, please let them know you are participating in a volunteer cleanup event.
Please bring along a reusable water bottle so you can stay hydrated with provided water refills without single-use plastic. ๐
WHERE TO MEET:
Weโll be meeting on the beach. Drive to the south end of the park and park in the last parking lot (right before the camping area entrance) and walk to the beach.
