Unfortunately, due to unhealthy air quality across Michigan caused by smoke from the Canadian wildfires, we have decided to cancel this weekend’s beach cleanup. The health and safety of our volunteers always comes first.

Join The Cleanup Club for a summer beach cleanup as we work together to protect our Great Lakes from plastic pollution! 🌊
Every year 22+ million pounds of plastic pollution enters our Great Lakes, with an estimated 5.5 million of that ending up in Lake Erie. Which is why we need your help in keeping our shorelines free from debris! 🪣🧤
⭐️ A great hands-on opportunity to learn more about microplastics and their impact on our freshwater ecosystem.
WHAT TO KNOW:
Our goal is to cleanup Lake Erie’s shoreline while having fun!
Everyone & anyone is welcome!
All cleanup materials will be provided.
All trash we collect will be weighed, counted and categorized with the help of volunteers for Great Lakes plastic pollution research & advocacy efforts.
A state park fee will NOT be required. If there is an attendant at the entrance, please let them know you are participating in a volunteer cleanup event.
WHAT TO BRING:
A reusable water bottle so you can stay hydrated with provided water refills without single-use plastic. 🌎
